I, too, have started researching the Karg family in preparation for a trip to Germany in September. After reading your geneological information, I cannot match any of the info I have with what is in your comments. My father (now deceased) was Peter Karg, born in Brooklyn, New York on October 11, 1899. My grandfather was George A. Karg, born March 25, 1868, in Rimbach, I.O. Hessen, Germany. His wife, my grandmother, was Elsa Karg, born August 8, 1869 in Morlenbach I.O., Hessen, Germany. They had 10 children (apparently people had many in those days), some of whom died at childbirth or in their first year. One of my father's brothers, Johan (John) Karg, was born January 27, 1908 in Battle Creek, Michigan, America, and died that same year. My younger brother, John E. Karg, was born in Boston Massachusetts, USA, on June 13, 1937. He disappeared several years ago & I have not heard from him since around the 1960's. Your article caught my eye when I saw both George and John listed as family members. However, I'm wondering if those were common German names. Perhaps Karg is also a common name. An internet search certainly turns up a lot of people with that surname, although I haven't run into anybody else with that name outside of my immediate family. I'd be most interested and delighted to hear from you, especially if you think there is any connection between your ancestors and mine. Thanks for your response & for sharing your family info....
